Laughing on Saturday

I am reading Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. I see lots of things in that book that remind me of tough things I've been through. But, at the same time, I haven't laughed so much when reading a book in years. I find myself nodding knowingly at some of her statements, yet laughing uproariously at another item on the same page.

It's a great read. If you haven't read it, do.

I called a friend from church that I've not been able to get together with for a while due to schedules and lethargy. I invited her to go on the Garden Walk with me; we did it together 4 years ago. She said she had LOTS to talk with me about, and the tone of her voice was not happy. I'll drive so she can spill her guts.

Yoga yesterday was a class that was a bit above my capacities. I got the curly haircut at the same time as my normal class, so I went earlier to a class called Core Yoga. OMG. The best explanation of how advanced it was could be found at the end--the instructor said, "Find your restorative pose," and half the class went to the wall and did handstands. The woman on the mat next to me just stood on her head right there. Anyway, today I feel as if I was run over by a truck. Mind you, I also took my Boniva yesterday for the second time. Last month that was what made me feel like a punching bag. Between the two, it is no wonder that I am so sore.

Today was a lovely day in the Black Hills. Taciturn and I went to the market and picked up some lovely lettuce and jam (too late for the farm eggs and the purple red beets), then walked through the greenway a total of five miles while marveling at the startingly blue sky. The breeze was so cool. We walked along the creek that meanders through town and saw entire families with their pant legs pulled up wading in the water. Life was a party today, and no one missed it!

Grace abounds. Days like this really help.
