Quite a day

Among the blogs I read. FranIam has posted both yesterday and today about encounters with some non critically thinking members of her family.

These posts actually tie in with a paper posted on The Center for Progressive Christianity's website entitled "Myth Busting the Christian Right." This is long and involved, so allow some time. Well worth it, though. It refutes the idea that liberal Christians are relativists and introduces (at least it did to me) the idea of "moral realism." Give it some consideration.

I also enjoyed Kirkepiscatoid's thoughts on yesterday's Gospel lesson from Matthew. She was able to use the metaphor to examine some things in her own life and her conclusions were not only very satisfactory, but moving! Oh, BTW, she is the first person I've met in the wide Web we've woven who actually is a good friend of someone who was a good friend of mine when I was a freshman in college, over 30 years ago. Much closer than 6 degrees of separation!
