Update to fire
It is 70% contained as of this morning's paper. The folks who were evacuated have been allowed to go back to their homes. The fire fighting conditions have been difficult as the winds are erratic and the temperatures have been over 100 dgs each day, but they are confident that they have got it mostly out, though still on the alert for flare ups. Good job, folks! Thanks be to God!

Things that make you go YIKES!
When you look out of the window and see this, knowing that is where your house is:
Unbeknownst to me, Taciturn, who was out and about, ran up to the house to check to see where the fire was. Not anywhere close, and I called one of our neighbors to make sure--especially when I read online that the road to our house was blocked and one subdivision was evacuated.
A rainstorm went through but the local online newspaper says the fire is burning uncontrolled and 50 homes are threatened. Please pray for the safety of firefighters and the homeowners.
