Coming up for air

I just started using Google reader to manage the blogs I read and I've noted after 2.5 days with our company, that I have seventy unread messages. But we are determined to show our guests the entire Black Hills as well as the Badlands in 4 days, which is insane, and really not doable. But, it is fun, but tiring, to try. I'll scan the blogs another time.

I wish I was as brave as Fran, though, when T's step sister's SO calls people derogative labels such as "Chinks" instead of proper names of Japanese, for example. I'm wondering if there was a way to connect one's political leanings (this person is a Republican) with the willingness to use insulting labels.

Can't stay and chat, as much as I'd like--gotta serve company dinner!

I have a hard time confronting people about hateful labels too.

Hang in there.

Being a hospitable person is most important. Confronting might help you, but not necessarily change anything at all.

Jan, thanks. I think that is correct. Although when I saw my sis in law throw a plastic bottle into the trash after our long conversation this am about recycling, I can't say I was very hospitable. (Grr...)
