Yes, I know tonight is the debate

But I don't want to watch it with my rabidly neocon spouse, who think people like me will destroy the US. And since I live out in the country, I really don't want to drive into town to watch it with other liberals and Dems at the local Democratic watering hole.

So...I'm spending my evening with the director King Vidor and the original flapper of the silent movies, Colleen Moore, my dead silent movie friends (saying borrowed from Cari Beauchamp). I think they are kind of romantic as they met and were attracted to each other at the tender ages of 27 and 21 (actually, most likely had an affair). They got back together again when they were elderly. A very nice story of love that did not die.

Here is a photo of them when they were very young. I can't post the photo I know of them together when they were elderly but I can attach the link to it.

This is so much more pleasant than fighting politics to the death with T.

Oh, isn't it sweet that they got back together again. Thanks for posting the photo (and link).

Well you know my husband and I got back together after a hiatus too and we ended up hitched this time.

Oh - you are wise to avoid the debate with Taciturn.

Mr He Is would not be annoying, but I know that he won't bother me if he did watch it with me.

Have you ever read "The Enchanted Castle," written by that very same Colleen Moore? My grandmother stood in line a very long time to have that book autographed for my mother.

My spouse was not home last night and I watched part of the debate, but after she said "nucular" one too many times I put a pillow on my head and passed out.
