Oh, Bother

Our former tenants ordered a computer and had it shipped to our house. They have not lived here for 18 months.

I didn't get to the door in time to accept the package in person from UPS. I wasn't expecting a package today, but it is close to the holidays, so I didn't think twice. Until, that is, I saw a box from a well known computer company, which told me that it was not a gift package from anyone we know.

Why in the world did they do this?

I immediately called UPS, and if they don't get it picked up by nine tonight, will pick it up on Monday.

It has been a strange week, and having these people even peripherally back in my life right now is utterly annoying.

Hmmmm...if they still owed you money...I'd be keepin' the computer as a hostage!

That occurred to me, but these folks are well versed in legal matters (Google their names and pages of lawsuits pop up), which is why we did not sue them for unpaid rent--we were advised not to. They would have us arrested for larceny theft if we kept the computer. The judge would say, you want the back rent, take them to court!

BTW, we did NOT know the above when we rented to them; it came out later.

What a pain!!!

Sorry that you have to deal with this nonsense and from some less-than-savory sounding characters.

I'm sorry to hear about this annoyance. Try not to think about it over the holiday. Have a good Thanksgiving.

what a strange world we live in - if you do wrong you can sue - if you do right you lose & you can be sued....?

How long O Lord?

Happy Thanksgiving....
