Spoken by a ~ 10 y/o girl from the table across from mine at a chain Mexican restaurant in eastern South Dakota:
"You've only been married two times in your whole life?"
The speaker sat next to a 40-ish man. A 40-ish woman sat across from the two of them.
I'm not sure how I should feel about this. Makes you wonder what this little girl has been through, though.

Wow, that does make you wonder about that girl. Maybe (hopefully) she just watches too much TV
My mom (who was married 60 years when Dad died) got really furious when my twice-married niece referred to Michael as my first husband. It just shows how life experiences affect people.
I am having a flashback to when I used to teach 7th grade and these two junior high girls were looking at a woman with a baby and one said to the other, "You know, you can get money every month when you have one of those..."
